There is a lot of controversy over which vaccines, if any to give your pet. The American Animal Hospital Association and the American Association of Feline Practitioners have produced guidelines to assist veterinarians and pet owners in choosing the vaccines. Even with that said, the choice of vaccines is not black and white. It will depend upon the individual pet, age and breed, his or her lifestyle, health status, demographics, owner's comfort with the vaccine, and veterinarian experience.
I recommend that for each pet, the pet owner and veterinarian sit down and discuss the recommended vaccines for a pet to create an individual schedule that best benefits the pet.
With that said, this website will attempt to condense and explain the recommendations of AAHA and AAFP.
